Meet Jessica – Senior Portraits {Orcutt, CA}

This past week I had the privilege and honor of photographing Jessica for her high school senior photos. She’s an amazing young lady, that is almost done with her senior year of high school. She’s overcome many obstacles in her life and I was so proud and happy to be able to donate my time to help make this photo shoot possible for her. I met her through my sweet friend who is a high school teacher and has been mentoring her this year.

Melinda’s makeup and skincare completely donated her makeup application for this special photo shoot. She’s an amazing esthetician and makeup artist that lives here on the Central Coast. Thank you Melinda, her makeup was absolutely gorgeous.

Farm Fest on the Coast and a Taste of Pismo {Pismo Beach, CA}

It was such an honor to be part of this amazing event put on by SLO Wine Country. I’m new to the Central Coast and the longer I live here I’m just blown away by the awesome winemakers and chefs, along with great farm fresh food that’s all locally grown and produced. I feel so spoiled living here and I have to pinch myself daily. This was the first year for this amazing event, and it was awesome. There were close to 30 farmers, chefs and restaurants represented along with 25 wineries. You walk into the event, they hand you a plate and a wine glass, and you just get to mingle and try all the delicious food and tasty wine. It doesn’t get much better than that. The icing on the cake is the amazing view, looking out onto the cliffs of Pismo Beach and the perfect weather we had that day. Enjoy the photos!

Below the photos you’ll find a list of all the vendors that participated.

My Big Fat Greek Easter {Santa Maria, CA}

The very first Central Coast friend I made was Kristina. This is the second year I’ve been part of a really great Bible Study through BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) and when I found out they met right across the street from my new house I was so excited. My very fist meeting, I met Kristina. She made me feel so welcomed and immediately invited me to join their homeschool group. If you are looking for a great, in depth, Bible study, BSF has been such an encouragement to me.

When Kristina told me her Mom was going to be in town, and they were preparing for a traditional Greek Easter, I knew I had to head over and capture some images of their sweet family. We were even able to capture some pictures of Danny on his lunch break from work.  It was such a pleasure to meet her Mom and Step-Dad. I loved seeing the three generations of these beautiful women cooking together and passing along the traditions to the younger generation.

A field of flowers {San Luis Obispo}

Welcome to my new blog! Please leave a comment and let me know what you think. Since moving last October, I knew it was time to update my website, and give it a fresh, new look. I’ve decided to merge my wedding and portrait work under one name, “Mia Marisa” to keep things simple. I love living on the Central Coast and I can’t wait to see where my business will take me in the coming years. As a celebration to the new blog, and how much I love living here, I decided to post the pictures below as a tribute to the beauty that surrounds me and the sweet, new friends I’ve made.

Driving one day, I couldn’t help but notice this open field full of beautiful, yellow mustard flowers. I knew I had to invite some friends to do a spontaneous photo shoot with our little ones. My friend provided all the fun props, including the butterfly nets, and big lollipops. The kids had a blast running through the flowers. I can’t wait for the next fun adventure.
