I’ve known Jake since he was a little guy, playing with Legos and video games. We haven’t seen our friends for two years since they moved to Vegas, and when I saw him, my first thought was, “He’s a man!”. He’s an amazing young man, a heart for God, and a deep love for family and friends. I was so impressed with him throughout our shoot as his Mom made him laugh during the shoot, and he played along and smiled all the way. The biggest surprise for me is that he is a clone of his father. Seriously! I couldn’t get over the smile, mannerisms and overall demeanor that he shares with his Dad. We love this family and we are so glad they are back on the Central Coast for future bbq’s and late night chats.

Adoption has my heart and I love sharing stories of adoption and how God knits families through adoption. With adoption comes joy and pain. There is grief and loss as we think of the birth parents that have lost their child, and yet joy as we see these children united with their forever families. With great sacrifice and love often comes a testimony of God’s sovereign grace in how He works in our lives. This family has recently brought home this precious baby. He is almost 6 months old and is awaiting finalization. I can’t share photos of the entire family, but I can share these few of this little love muffin. This precious family has two biological children and have been on the adoption list for a few years hoping and praying for a placement. When they got the call about this little man, they dropped everything to go meet him and take him home. As you think of this family, please continue to pray for them, Baby J as he continues to bond and attach, and the birth mother that has willingly placed him for adoption as she deals with this loss.

This sweet Mama is a friend from the homeschool community. Her family is precious and it was a privilege to capture them and their new baby girl a few days ago at their home.
